Coachella 2025: The Return of the 2010s Tumblr Girl

We need to talk about what happened at Coachella this year. Because I don’t know if the heat fried everyone’s brains or if we’ve collectively run out of original ideas, but 2010s Coachella fashion is officially back. Yes, that era. Flower crowns. Fringe vests. Tie-dye everything. A literal Urban Outfitters clearance rack from 2013 resurrected and walked into the desert like it never left.
And somehow… it worked?
It’s not even ironic anymore. People are earnestly bringing back the Vanessa Hudgens core: low-rise denim cutoffs, oversized floppy hats, bikini tops as shirts, round sunglasses that do nothing for your face shape. Feather earrings. Feather earrings.

At first, I was horrified. But then I remembered that fashion always circles back, and Coachella 2013 was, unfortunately, a cultural reset. There’s something comforting about watching girls fully commit to a look that once involved metallic flash tattoos and calling it bohemian.
The difference is that in 2025, it’s all slightly self-aware. You’ll see someone in a crochet halter and knee-high gladiator sandals, but she’s pairing it with Miu Miu ballet flats and a blurry digital camera. It’s vintage Tumblr-core meets Depop Y2K with just a hint of “I saw this on a throwback Emma Chamberlain Pinterest board.”

Even the guys were giving: sleeveless tanks, beads, jorts. Just bad enough to be good.
And honestly? I’m not mad. If we’re going to be delusional, might as well be delusional in a fringe kimono and mirrored Ray-Bans.

Coachella 2025 proved that no aesthetic really dies, it just waits until we’re nostalgic enough to wear it again unironically.
